West Coast School of Photography- University San Diego!

What a week!  Its day 3 of my 5 day intensive fine art figure study class (nudes)….. and  am loving it!  Its been an eye opener on using a full on studio set with 6 lights.  Crazy! 

I have never lived in a dorm room, or eating in a cafeteria every day with hundreds of other students….. what fun!  I see what I missed out on when I lived in an apartment while going to college!  Brenda and I are both here, so we are lucky to get to room together.

Congratulations to Nora & Scott!

They have been chosen by my family and I as the recipient of a complete wedding photography package complimentary of my partners and I…. worth over $4000.00!

They will receive up to 8 hours of photography coverage by me on their wedding day, March 20^th 2010. In Addition, they receive online proofing at pictage.com, a custom designed 10×10 wedding album and an engagement session!

I’d like to thank my wonderful partners at www.pictage.com and www.leathercraftsmen.com have both donated the prints and album to produce their wedding day memories!

It was an honor to read so many entries…. It was really a tough decision, but we kept going back to Nora and Scott’s story.  I am so honored to be able to document their day and I am looking forward to sharing with you all the images I create at their engagement session and wedding in March 2010!

For me, this is best birthday gift ever…. I get to share my love and talent with another couple who are planning a wedding, in this difficult economic time.  I plan on doing this every year….. So keep an eye out for next years wedding photography package give away!

Thank you again for everyone’s entry.  I really appreciate the time you all took out of your busy schedules to write to me about your engagement story.  I wish I could give this to everyone who entered.

And here’s a little eye candy….. my son Zane (who is almost 8) designed and made this cake for me…. Great job! Not exactly the Canon 5D markII…. but hey…. I can eat this one!

Thats the title of my merit winning image from monday!

And thats my boy…. Zane.  He has been practicing BMX racing this year and about 3 months ago signed up to start racing.  Daddy found him a killer (used) BMX bike, Auntie Debbie bought him “fast as fox” race wear…. he is all set!

So far he has two 3rd place trophies, one 2nd place and one 4th place.  He is sooooo proud! And so is his mama! 

He has over come so much in his short 7 and half years.  As a parent all you ever want is your child to be “normal”…… And to think that this is where he would be after everything he has gone through just makes me so full of love, hope and joy.  Zane has taught me about unconditional love, optimism and to never give up.  He will always be my special little guy!  I am so proud of you Zane!

Of course…. its hanging in my living room wall!

We had a wonderful trip!  Mammoth is very beautiful this time of the year, even more so with an eight foot base of snow still there!

Zane skied his legs off and proud daddy helped and watched…. he is so happy now he has a skiing partner (I dislike skiing!)

Zada was in love the “snowman” that’s what she called the white stuff on the ground all week. 

We meet up with some friends up there who also have kidos the same age, so we all had a blast!

What a fun weekend!

It all began with Wendy and Jeremy’ wedding at the Sea Bee base!  Wendy & Jeremy have a very special place in my heart (and camera!) as Wendy is Brenda’s sister!  Most of you have had a chance to meet her second shooting my weddings and she is the other half to mystique studio!

Words can not express how I feel right now!

Ventura County Star called to inform me that Photography by Leanne Reis won “Full County Favorite” in Photography by their Readers Choice Award! FULL COUNTY!!!! It’s such an honor! I am so speechless!

It couldn’t be better timing, with celebrating 10 years in business this year!

Keep an eye out for the official results later this month in the Ventura County Star newspaper! It is an honor to be listed with the other professionals who were voted by Ventura County residents!

I will be holding an official party/ open house at the studio in April…..stay tuned for the date! It’s the least I can do…. And a good reason to throw a party before the busy wedding season sneaks up on me!
